螺鈿特別制作会
10月4日（日）・5日（月）・6日（火）の3日間、
東京ミッドタウン THE COVER NIPPONにて、
伊藤若冲をテーマにした特別な制作会を開催いたします。
今回のワークショップは、
ただ「工芸を体験する」だけのものではありません。
皆さまご自身の手で天然の貝を使った「螺鈿」の制作を行い、
その作品を私が引き継ぎ、一点一点の螺鈿を生かしながら蒔絵を施し、
約2〜3か月をかけて一つの漆芸作品へと仕上げます。
テーマは、江戸時代を代表する絵師「伊藤若冲」。
若冲の作品の中から選んだ3つのモチーフより、
お好みのデザインをお選びいただきます。
約2時間の螺鈿制作から始まり、
その後、職人の手による蒔絵の工程を経て完成する、
自分自身も制作に携わった、世界にひとつだけの作品。
螺鈿の周囲に蒔絵を施す今回の作品は、
貝の厚みによるわずかな高低差があるため、
描くことも、研ぐことも、通常の蒔絵以上に高度な技術を必要とします。
「体験」と「職人の仕事」が一つにつながり、
数か月後に完成品として再び出会う。
そんな特別なものづくりの時間を、

【Special Workshop Announcement】
“Wear Jakuchu”
A Special Raden Creation Workshop with Traditional Craftsman Takayuki Hariya
From October 4–6, we will be holding a special three-day workshop at THE COVER NIPPON in Tokyo Midtown, inspired by the work of Ito Jakuchu.
This is more than simply an opportunity to experience traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
During the workshop, you will create your own raden design using natural mother-of-pearl. I will then take over the piece and, working with each individual arrangement of raden, add maki-e decoration and complete it as a finished work of lacquer art over the following two to three months.
The theme of this special workshop is Ito Jakuchu, one of the most distinctive painters of the Edo period.
You will choose your favorite from three motifs selected from Jakuchu’s works and create the raden elements yourself.
Your journey begins with approximately two hours of hands-on raden work. From there, the piece will pass into the hands of the craftsman, where the maki-e process will continue until it becomes a one-of-a-kind finished work of art—one that you yourself have helped to create.
Because the raden sits slightly raised above the surrounding surface, applying and polishing the maki-e around it requires an even higher level of precision and skill than usual.
Your own craftsmanship and the work of the artisan come together in a single piece, which you will encounter again several months later in its completed form.
